As a company that excels and takes pride in customer service levels, Mulligan Funding wants to recognize and reward our favorite merchants in San Diego that do the same.

In December, Mulligan Funding launched their very own Putting the Customer First Award. This initiative welcomes Mulligan employees to nominate merchants in San Diego that demonstrate inspiring levels of customer service.

After thorough deliberation (and some convincing that they had won) Prager Brothers, a family run bakery in Carlsbad stole the show.

After receiving the award and accompanying cash prize, we interviewed Louie on the secrets to the success of his business.

Louie stated that Prager Brothers’ success is founded on quality – the careful selection of whole and organic ingredients. “We focus on quality and variety over quantity, restoring the time-honored tradition of artisan bread making.”

Additionally, their superb levels of customer service stem from a genuine, transparent and educational approach to both employees and customers. “Employee training is a top priority. Daily, employees work alongside me [Louie] and Clinton so there is constant information and technique sharing.”

Prager Brothers is open 7 days a week, has a presence at farmer markets around SD county and also sells to cafes and restaurants who want to offer high end breads and pastries.

Brothers Louie and Clinton Prager will use the $2,000 from Mulligan Funding to buy a large “butcher’s block” table that will be the centerpiece at their second facility where they will provide baking classes to groups and individuals.
