  • 01. Associate Credit Analyst

    The team of credit analysts at Mulligan are responsible and assessing the financial condition of small business loan applicants and approving or declining loans. The credit analysts evaluate financial statements to assess cash flow and liquidity in order to determine if loans should be approved or declined. Unlike working at a bank, this is an extremely fast-paced role that will involve decision making authority. Credit analysts must be adept at multitasking, critical thinking, and extemporaneous decision-making. New hires will be trained by experienced analysts. This position offers a high growth potential for quick learners and hard workers!

    Day-to-Day Job Duties:
    • Review financial statements and analyze business bank statements to determine credit worthiness of small businesses
    • Analyze personal credit reports of businesses and individuals
    • Assess how the guarantor personal credit may affect the creditworthiness of the business
    • Sizing and structuring loans for approved clients
    • Complete credit memos for approved loans that support the decision and the structure of the proposed financing
    • Conduct ad-hoc research on businesses to protect against fraud
    • Interview potential clients in order to further assess ability to repay
    • Decline loan applications that do not meet the minimum criteria
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelors’ degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a similar discipline
    • Minimum GPA of a 3.0. May/June 2018 college grads are welcome to apply!
    • A strong grasp of accounting principles and ability to dissect financial statements
    • Prior internship or job experience in a finance or accounting related field.
    • Knowledgeable about the small business lending landscape in the U.S. with insights into various industry risk segments
    • Well-developed organizational, communication, and time-management skills
    • Adept in all Microsoft Office Products, G-Suite, and ability to quickly pick up new programs and CRM systems
    • Strong critical thinking, mathematical, and analytical skills
    • Ability to make complex decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • 04. Data Engineer

    We are seeking an enthusiastic and curious Software Developer to join our team to develop and manage data pipelines, but we’re a new team with lots of opportunities to contribute to application design and infrastructure as well. In this role, you’ll work in a highly collaborative environment where communication with the Marketing, Data Science, and Backend Engineering teams is key to your day-to-day success.

    Responsibilities:
    • Write reliable software to ingest, transform and distribute data into our internal applications.
    • Automate current processes and add logging and monitoring.
    • Build data access platform for key stakeholders and data scientists.
    • Design, develop, and launch ETL processes between multiple systems.
    • Drive the advancement of data infrastructure by developing and implementing underlying logic and structure for how data is set up, cleansed and stored.
    • Partner with Marketing and Data Science teams to deliver data solutions that meet internal requirements within agreed upon timelines.
    • Scope points of failure and create alerts to ensure continual data availability, accuracy and cleanliness.
    • Provide ad hoc queries and analysis as needed.
    • Build and maintain reports/dashboards to meet the needs of internal users.
    • Monitor and remediate data quality issues.
    • Process semi-structured data into a form suitable for analysis.
    Qualifications:
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Demonstrated proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
    • Ability to balance high-priority, long-term projects with immediate deadlines.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or closely related field
    • 2+ years of experience working with back-end data systems to create and process clean data.
    • 2+ years of experience in developing ETL solutions.
    • 2+ years programming, manipulating/analyzing data in Python, Scala, or Java (Python preferred).
    • Proficient in writing scripts with Python, Ruby, or Javascript (Python preferred).
    • Familiarity with manipulating Dataframes and Pandas.
    • Proficient in SQL, (currently SQL Server) with ability to write complex SQL for data manipulation.
    • Experience maintaining and updating a data warehouse.
    • Experience accessing data via Web Services and external/non-SQL datasets.
    • Proficient with Data Visualization Tools (e.g. – Tableau or PowerBI).
    • Experience with AWS or Azure products: EC2, RDS, AWS Data Pipeline, S3, RDS, Dynamo or Logic Apps, SQL Server, and Functions, etc.

  • 05. Project Manager

    Mulligan Funding is a technology-driven, business-financing company that caters to the unique financial needs of small to mid-sized businesses, headquartered in San Diego. The Project Manager will help build a strong foundation off which to leverage their expertise in order to accomplish Mulligan Funding’s project goals and initiatives. Such projects include strategic and tactical IT initiatives, software development, and other projects that require management support. The Project Manager will assist in the project lifecycle, manage project documentation, help develop project timelines and deliverables, prepare all necessary communications, coordinate project meetings & schedules, and assist when necessary in the QA and UAT process of a project.

    Responsibilities:
    • Collaborate and work well with the project sponsor, stakeholders, and other staff members to create the project scope, goals, and deliverables to complete the project
    • Create, maintain, and organize backlog of features, epics, stories, and tasks
    • Work on multiple projects simultaneously
    • Help establish the use of project scheduling and control tools to monitor projects plans, work hours, budgets, deliverables, and timelines
    • Work in large and complex IT project implementations/upgrades
    • Provide input to release planning, using team capacity and skill set information
    • Be an advocate for the Agile and Scrum methodology
    • Create general Agile graphics and assist product owner with executive briefings
    • Manage project expectations and work with minimal supervision
    • Coordinate internal resources and/or third parties/vendors to accomplish project objectives
    • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
    • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
    • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
    • Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to all stakeholders and project team members
    • As needed, schedule meetings, prepare meeting agendas, notate meeting minutes, provide weekly updates, monitor and update project tasks
    • Follow-up as necessary with project members on tasks and responsibilities assigned to them to ensure deadlines and timelines are being meet
    • Assist in the QA and UAT process of a project to ensure a level of oversight on deliverables 
    Requirements and Qualifications: 
    • A minimum of 3 years managing IT and software development projects
    • Must be able to work within a fast-paced environment with aggressive timelines
    • Experience with Agile project management methodologies
    • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Experience with JIRA or similar Agile project management tools
    • Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail excellent soft and interpersonal skills

    Responsibilities:
    • Translate business requirements into well architected solutions that best leverage the Salesforce platform 
    • Develop comprehensive configuration designs and architectural documentation to support the successful implementation of projects and processes.
    • Identify and recommend Salesforce.com based solutions, integration points and related implementation architecture for business usage improvements, scalability and performance

    Requirements:

    • Knowledge of data integration tools and experience integrating Salesforce with different business systems (ETL, marketing automation, reporting, etc.)
    • Strong understanding of environment management, release management, code versioning best practices, and deployment methodologies

    • Experience supporting strategic assessments that are transformational in nature.
