  • 01. Associate Credit Analyst

    Mulligan Funding is a leading provider of working capital, helping businesses across the country get access to the funds they need in order to successfully compete, grow and thrive.     We have entered a new stage of significant growth and are looking to expand the team of credit analysts. Credit Analysts at Mulligan are responsible for assessing the financial condition of small businesses and approving or declining loan requests. Unlike working at a bank, this is an extremely fast-paced role that will involve decision-making. Credit Analysts must be adept at multitasking, critical thinking, and extemporaneous decisiveness. New hires will be trained by experienced analysts. This position offers high growth potential for quick-learners and is open to recent graduates.

    Day-to-day job duties
    • Review financial statements and conduct in-depth analysis of business bank statements to determine credit worthiness of small businesses.
    • Analyze personal & business credit reports.
    • Assess the impact of the guarantor on the company’s ability to service debt.
    • Interview the owners/managers of businesses about company operations, cash flow, and proposed use of funds.
    • Conduct ad hoc research on businesses and industries to protect against fraud.
    • Size, structure, and price loans for approved clients.
    • Write (brief) credit memos for approved loans.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelors’ degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a similar discipline.
    • Minimum GPA of a 3.0.
    • A strong grasp of accounting principles and ability to dissect financial statements.
    • Prior internship or job experience in a finance, business or accounting related field.
    • Well-developed organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
    • Adept in all Microsoft Office Products, G-Suite, and ability to quickly pick up new programs and CRM systems.
    • Strong critical thinking, mathematical, and analytical skills.
    • Ability to make complex decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

    Job responsibilities

    • Interface with internal sales team on loan approvals.

    • Conduct interviews with the CFOs/CEOs of applicants to better understand business operations and financing needs.
    Qualifications
    • Minimum 1 year of experience underwriting or credit analysis. 2-3 years in the industry is preferred (3 is required for a senior position).
    • Bachelors’ degree, preferably in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a similar discipline.
    • A strong grasp of GAAP accounting principles and ability to dissect financial statements and business bank statements.
    • Knowledgeable about the small business lending landscape in the U.S. with insights into various industry risk segments.
    • Well-developed organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
    • Adept in all Microsoft Office products, G-Suite, and ability to quickly pick up new programs and CRM systems.
    • Strong critical thinking, mathematical, and analytical skills.
    • Ability to make complex decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

    The Lead Nurture Marketing Program Manager is responsible for supporting the strategies related to lead nurture of the Marketing Program. This role requires heavy program and project management, effective cross-functional support and communication, and ongoing reporting to senior teams.  

    Key functional areas of responsibility

    • Detailed and effective program management for all defined marketing initiatives related to lead nurture. Including but not limited to email, incentive-based marketing, retargeting/display ads, SEO, and social media.
    • Define strategies for improving nurture campaign performance and drive programs towards optimizing specified KPIs.
    • Project manage nurture campaign execution with cross-functional teams and external vendors, including development of project timelines and management of project tasks to ensure timely launch and on-going optimizations. 
    • Brief development for all campaign programs to ensure goals are clearly defined and measured appropriately.
    • Analyze campaign data to provide impactful insights and make recommendations on campaign optimizations and future marketing strategies. 
    • Track spend and KPIs to ensure campaigns and projects stay on budget and hit forecasted targets. Coordinate with senior team for necessary adjustments to accommodate missed targets.
    • Responsible for effective setup and tracking of campaigns to assess and optimize campaign performance. Including landing page development, URL campaign tracking, and creative management. Make, present, and defend recommendations to senior team.
    • Editorial development and website updates via WordPress, optimizing for SEO and best practice.
    • Perform impactful competitive analyses across marketing channels to inform on campaign and site optimizations and report on insightful observations and recommendations.
    • Manage vendor partnerships, accommodating ongoing communications and identifying opportunities to improve partner performance. 

    Professional competencies

    • Attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline-driven atmosphere.
    • Proactive and independent; able to self-start and see projects through to completion with minimal supervision. 
    • Ability to clearly and effectively articulate thoughts and points into reporting for senior Marketing team. Effective communication is core to being effective in this role. 
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, project management, and time management skills.
    • Strong aptitude for thinking creatively and strategically and identifying and resolving problems with productive solutions. 

    Professional skills & qualifications

    • BS/BA degree required.
    • 3-4 years of experience managing nurture marketing campaigns.
    • 5-6 years of digital marketing experience.
    • Experience with website analysis using a variety of analytics tools including Google Analytics as well as internal reporting tools, and ability to convert the data from these tools into informative reports.
    • Experience with project management programs or ability to demonstrate practical project management experience a must. 
    • Knowledge of email programs and optimizing data gathered from both organic and paid sources.
    • Experience working with CMS and building/administering content in multiple CMS environments.
    • Experience with Salesforce a plus.
    • Experience in B2B or with a long lead-cycle industry.
    • Agency experience a plus.

  • 04. Loan Application Processor

    We have entered a new stage of significant growth and are looking to expand the underwriting team. The Loan Application Processors complete the first stage of the underwriting process. It is a very faced-paced role with a high volume of loan applications to assess daily.

    The primary activities for this role include researching and validating important loan application information to ensure the application pre-qualifies for underwriting. The Application Processors complete a speedy assessment of each application to determine if it should be moved forward in the underwriting process or declined.

    Requirements
    • Very fast on a computer, must be able to type at least 80 words per minute.
    • Fast with new systems, toggling between different systems and learning new software.
    • Strong on Excel.
    • Highly focused and extremely detail oriented.
    • Able to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
    • Able to apply critical thinking and make decisions quickly.
    • Confident enough to defend decisions and explain to a sales associate why an application may not pre-qualify.
    Preferred skills and experience

After a loan is approved by a credit analyst and accepted by a client, the Funding Team takes ownership of the file to ensure that all loan closing stipulations and documents are received and meet the company’s risk profile. The goal is to provide the quickest and most efficient loan closing process for our customers, while also maintaining high quality standards. The ability to multitask, effectively communicate with multiple departments and parties, and be extremely detail oriented is pivotal to this position.

    Requirements

    Day-to-day responsibilities
    • Fund, at or above quota, Mulligan Funding’s small business loans sourced from your assigned book of Partner accounts.
    • Work with a dedicated, and growing, number of Partners to ensure their clients are approved and funded with Mulligan financing.
    • Communicate approvals, declines, and requests for additional information to our Partner team.
    • Work extremely closely with assigned Partner accounts to increase submission, approval, and closing volumes through dedicated training and coaching of these accounts.
    • Persistently dial the phone, send emails, and use other communication methods to generate applications, enrich Partner relationships, and help your Partner accounts close new business.
    • Work in conjunction with our Underwriting team to communicate client and Partner needs and desires.
    Skills & qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience required.
    • 1-3+ years working in a merchant cash advance or commercial finance-related industry in a sales or business development capacity.
    • Ability to advance and close deals using multiple communication channels.

    Mulligan has a small but complex technology organization, with teams building software for funding operations, customer-facing applications, and data analytics.  Although we use a Scrum-based Agile process, we have not had a professional Scrum Master on our team so far.  In the Sr. Scrum Master role, you will educate us on best practices, help us refine our processes, and enable us to achieve measurable improvements in productivity and quality.

    Key areas of responsibility
    • Assist Agile teams in making progress toward project timelines and goals.
    • Remove impediments for the team.
    • Help team members communicate internally and with stakeholders, coordinate team efforts toward product delivery.
    • Ensure that the team has a clear understanding of Definition of Done and how to meet it.
    • Work with the Business Analysts to review and prioritize backlog items.
    • Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies to include sprint planning, review, and retro.
    • Collect and share team metrics with the team, determine when new metrics are needed, and develop improvements in metrics.
    • Coach teams on agile and scrum principles with a goal of continuous improvement.
    • Experiment with new ideas to improve delivery.
    • Promote teamwork to set and achieve sprint goals.
    Required skills & qualifications
    • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience.
    • Experience in working as a Scrum Master or Team Lead for a software development or similar technical team.
    • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar agile project management certification (PMI-ACP).
    • Experience using Agile project management and collaboration tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jira, Miro).
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, and time management skills.
